Feeling Crafty

The boys and I made treats for Fright Night at Papa and Nana’s this weekend. I found a really cool cookie mold and we stripped some crayons of their paper, broke them up into smaller pieces, placed them very carefully into the molds and melted them into fun Halloween shapes. They were a big hit. My favorite is Frankenstein!

Scarecrows

Uncle Dan, Aunt Erin, Riley and Delaney invited us over Sunday to make scarecrows. It was raining outside so Aunt Erin thought it would be ok to bring the hay into their kitchen. I was a bit nervous about the hay going everywhere but was quite impressed that only a small mess was made and cleaned up in no time. This ended up being more of an adult craft party as the kids were over it in about 1 minute, 23 seconds and moved on to the playroom.

Andelin Family Farm

We decided to try out a new pumpkin patch this year. It is located right by our house in Spanish Springs. It was the first year they opened and was really fun. They had pumpkins, of course, but many friendly farm animals as well.

Flicker Candles

Flicker came to visit Beau’s class again this year and you may remember last years candles were pretty darn cool. I was really excited to hear that they were coming to visit again. They bring all sorts of fun colored wax chunks and let the kids create their masterpiece. They take them back to their boutique and “finish” them and one day later Beau brings this beautiful, yummy smelling candle home to me.

Schaffer Custom Cars

One of the really cool things that Papa found and researched for our trip to Disneyland was a store called Ride Makerz in Downtown Disney. Think "Build A Bear” but all R/C cars. You pick out a body/frame and then on to wheels/tires and finally on the the internal “guts".” When it’s time to leave they pack them up safely in their “garage” for travel. I think it’s safe to say that Papa and Daddy had just as much fun here.

Here are the custom hot rods that the boys built. Cole’s being orange and black…orange is his favorite color right now and Beau’s, red and black. They are so much fun and are actually quite beefy and sturdy for little rascals!
