Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to our Mom’s and all Mom’s!

 God could not be everywhere and
therefore he made mothers.

Woke up this morning to ANOTHER fun day! Dave really got beat up this weekend with my birthday and Mother’s Day right together but he handled it perfectly. :) My guys made me some adorable projects at school…real treasures!   Along with that came some cookbooks that I had seen a while back and, of course, David remembered. I hope my friends and family love cupcakes!
and last but not least….Beau goes to Home Depot workshops and made this fabulous plant stand for me. He is quite proud of his paint job and the fact that the wooden flower didn’t “come like this Mom,” I had to “build” it.
   We headed out for breakfast at the Eldorado Buffet with Papa and Nana. Delicious! Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Birthday Dear Me!

My birthday started last night after work when I met up with Dave, Beau, Cole, Papa and Nana for a wonderful dinner at Famous Dave’s BBQ! So delicious! Thank You so much Dad and Mom. Love You!

Wow! As if I wasn’t spoiled enough yesterday, my guys did it again. My birthday started off with wonderful cards and an amazing gift!Can you believe it!?! As if I am ever going to use a camera. Ha! Ha! This is the BEST gift!! I will now be able to keep up with the action shots at all of our sporting events, dark inside lighting will be a piece of cake and 26x’s optical zoom….like having binoculars! Beau and Cole know this means trouble for them, “we’re going to have to say cheese even more now!” Boy are they right!

We went off to Cole’s soccer and then met up with Grandma and Clay for a fabulous lunch! Thank You so much Mom! Love You! After that, headed home to take a nap before dinner. David, Beau, Cole and Aunt Sherry took me to dinner at Micasa. Yummy! Thank You!

After we got home we had a yummy ice cream cake from Marble Slab!

Bye Bye 13mpg – Hello 29mpg

David and I approached the subject a few months back about downsizing my Expedition for many reasons…13mpg being the main one with the rising fuel costs and the fact that I drop the boys off at school 2 blocks from our house (we walk on good weather days) and then I drive 25 miles across town by myself. The idea just makes sense. The Expedition has been wonderful to us and someday we may even have another but for now, we have made a great choice for our family. So after many conversations we decided that we would look for a pre-owned car and had our budget and payments all figured out in our minds. Cool! Let’s start the process. Of course I immediately start looking online at pre-owned options and the very first day see this fantastic looking Mazda3 that just so happens to be at our favorite car dealership. I looked through the online pictures of it many times over and knew I wanted it bad! It was higher priced than we talked about so I never said anything more
about it. A few days later I get a text from David from his “Cars.com” app. and it says I found the perfect car for you, this is THE ONE! It totally fits you, I know you’ll love it and it’s what I’m getting for you. I open it up and sure enough it’s that same beautiful Mazda3!!!!!!! Yikes, we know each other well. He has already contacted 
our “finance guy” at the dealership and has worked the numbers and all slid right into the exact amount we wanted to spend! We got a steal of a deal and our new car is so much fun! Dave took the day off today and went down to Reno Toyota and surprised me at work with it, showed up to take me to lunch driving my new car!!! Yeah, he’s good!
I’m spoiled rotten! I love him!
