Well Deserved

This will be the mushy Mom post bragging about her boy so be prepared. As you know from this post, Beau had the greatest year in Kindergarten. The first week of school they were given a “Friday Folder” and each week it would come home with important stuff for David and I as well as his “grade” for that week. They used the 3 card system:

Green = warning
Yellow = final warning
Red = phone call to Dad/Mom = BIG TROUBLE

Beau was in school for 36 weeks, 180 days and he did not have to pull a warning card for 179 of those days!!!
Friday Folder Friday Folder
In kindergarten they get 2 Report Cards and both of his were marked “Exceeds Standards” in all columns. Along with those were 2 fabulous notes from his teacher about how excited he is to learn and that he is a pleasure to have in class. With that said, he was most definitely deserving of his reward from David and I.
Beyond Excited....He Had To Sleep With It In His Room  You may be wondering why this is in his bedroom. Well, he was so excited that he “just had” to fall asleep staring at it. He had a permanent smile all day, so much so, his cheeks are probably a bit sore.

Happy Father’s Day David

Daddy I love you with all of my heart,
and I think you are so smart.
Every time I cry a tear,
you are somewhere near.
If I have a problem,
you are always there to solve 'em.
When I get in trouble,
you are your right there on the double.
And I thank God that He,
gave such a great daddy to ME!
Oh daddy I hope you can see,
that you mean the world to me.

Happy Father’s Day Dad!

A father is neither an anchor to hold us back,
nor a sail to take us there,
but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.

So Long Kindergarten

Wow! Where to start?! Beau had an AMAZING year in kindergarten! He loved every last second of it and never wanted it to end. His quote to me on Monday was:

"Mom I feel upset because everyone keeps asking me about being excited that it's my last week of school and I am going to miss Mrs. McPartland so much and want her to be my teacher for the rest of my life so what exactly is exciting about my last week of school?"

How sweet is that?! He had the BEST teacher, Mrs. McPartland, that any parent could ever ask for. She is dedicated, proud, creative, caring, understanding and brilliant! Beau adores and respects her and genuinely loves her to pieces. After writing her a note to let her know how Beau felt and thanking her for such a great school year she replied with this:

“Kristy,

First, can I please say that I am truly the one who is blessed here?  Beau is such a wonderful boy!  He is bright, motivated, eager to learn, sensitive, polite.....the list goes on.  The credit really goes to you and your husband for raising such an incredible son.  I just happened to be the lucky teacher who got to share his life for a year.  For that, I will always feel blessed.  So, let me say "thank you" to you for sharing your son with me and allowing me to teach him.....it was a privilege.

The end of the year is always a hard time.  It comes so fast and really at a time when you are not ready to let go.  When you have kids like Beau, or a class like this one, it's especially hard.  In fact, it's one of the reasons why I don't have volunteers come into the class the last 2+ weeks.  I need some alone time with my kids as I prepare to send them off to their next challenge.  It's not easy, but I am so proud of them.  In fact, I had a talk with them today about it.  I told them how much I loved them and that I would miss them so much, and if I could, I would keep them with me forever.  But, they are too smart for kindergarten now, and since they are so smart, they have to go on to first grade. :)  I'm sorry Beau is a little sad right now.  I will shower him with hugs everyday to try to help him through the transition.....although, it might be to help me through! :)  Please know that Beau is going to be ok.  I know this because he's a great kid, but also because I'm a mom and I've been there so I know how both of you are feeling.  Thanks for being so supportive this year and for all of your kind words. :)

Toni”

Now I’m sure you can agree that she is FANTABULOUS! What a teacher to take time out of her day to write such kind, heartfelt words to David and I. The flood gates are open for this Momma! Beau matured and learned and changed so much over this past year and we are more proud of him with each passing day. His success is a direct reflection of his teacher and we are so thankful! We love him to the moon and back!

Last Game, Until Next Year

Beau had his last baseball game tonight. This game was especially fun for him as one of his best friends was on the team he was playing. He had such a wonderful season and did so well this year. Next year he will move up to a new level, Rookies, and he is so excited about that.
We are so proud of him and the great season he had!

Sacramento Zoo

SacZoo We surprised the boys and took them over the hill to the Sacramento Zoo today and they loved it! It was raining when we left our house and on and off on the way but stopped when we got there and didn’t start up again until we were half way home. We were walking around the zoo and ran into Uncle Jeff and Aunt Lisa. Funny, a 2 hour drive into our neighboring state and they picked the same day to go. Such a pleasant surprise.
Hum?!? Where to go next? HaHa!101_0257 :)

Swim Time

Although our weather hasn’t shown us that it’s almost summer time, swim lessons have. We signed the boys up at a new place closer to home this year and we are loving it.
