David and I took Beau to his friend Zack’s birthday party today at High Ballocity. It is a huge indoor playground with all sorts of fun obstacles throughout. Zack’s Mom made him an awesome Star Wars cake!

1st Grade
Beau’s First Day of First Grade!
Such a big day for him and he was so excited! With first grade comes a couple things that he just can’t wait for. Being at school all day vs half day, “the big playground” and eating lunch in the cafeteria.
I am not quite sure why but this first grade thing was much more emotional for me than kindergarten. I think it’s the confidant independence that has come over him. He’s got it handled! “I know where my class is, I know abut the playground, I know where to eat my lunch, I know the rules and I’ve got it, Mom.” He was so excited for kindergarten but still needed me….not that he doesn’t now….he just tries to play it much cooler.
off we go…walking to school
stopping for the “Mom” picture real quick
found the class line along with his buddy, Chelsea
meeting Mrs. Coover
ready to go see his new classroom
and he’s off…..there goes our Baby Beau!
Since he’s now in school all day and not at Discoveries for all that long, I had to break the news to Cole last week that brother wouldn’t be there after naptime.
Beau went into Cole’s class everyday when naptime ended to rub Cole’s back and wake him up and he will now be at school so he won’t be able to. Cole was crushed. It was so sad but so sweet all at the same time.
When David picked Beau up tonight his quote was:
”First Grade Is So Great!!!”

V&T Railroad
We had a fun day today heading up to Virginia City with Papa and Nana. Nana made plans for us to leave out of Carson City and travel up the mountain via the V&T Railroad. It was Beau and Cole’s first time on a “real” train and they thought it was pretty cool!
Let’s eat some lunch, walk up and down Main Street, visit the gift shops, watch a gun fight and eat ice cream.
Time to head back to the train station
Such a great day!

4th Of July
Papa and Nana had us over for a 4th of July picnic and Papa surprised the kids with a swimming pool and slip-n-slide. The kids loved it. All of us grown ups were talking about how much smaller the slip-n-slide looked compared to back in our day…obviously, we were much smaller so it seemed bigger!
Will has been wearing a mohawk for a while and even while swimming it stayed. Aunt Amy is clearly using some super strong cement to keep it up. :)
While hanging out, Cole asked David if they could go inside and take a nap………WHAT!?!?!?!
Our firework watching was from David’s truck slowly driving a big circle around Victorian Square while Cole slept right through it. Maybe next year.
We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!
